| Q. Can I use another tips brand with my Pipetman G ?
A. The Pipetman G is comptatible with the majority of tips brand.

| Q. the forces are very low; but do I still feel the difference between pipetting and purge step ?
A. Yes; forces have been calculated to maintain this difference, which impacts repetabilty of results.
Q. What are the advantages of a greased piston ?
A. The greased piston assembly reduces significantly the forces to apply during pipetting and reduces the risk of corrosion. Then, you have better comfort and low cost of ownership.
Q. How often I need to grease my piston ?
A. Due to Pipetman G high lubricant quality, the maintenance frequency is maintained as usual. If you maintain your pipette once a year, you will continue to maintain it once a year.
Q. Is it possible to grease the Pipetman G using any lubricant ?
A. The use of another lubricant will compromise the quality of your results with risk of stick sleep effect. In addition,
If done mistakenly, just clean the piston with alcohol, change the seals and add proper grease Q. Does the grease resistant to agressive vapors and temperature variation ?
A. this grease resists to acid and bases, and can support temperature from -60°C to 200°C.
Q. where I can buy the grease ?
A. this grease is only available through Gilson distribution network;
Q. How I know that seals or O-rings have to be replaced?
A. Perform a leak test: Fit a Gilson Diamond tip ,select the nominal volume of the pipette and then you aspirate the corresponding volume of liquid ,you wait for 20 secs to see if any drop appears
Q. Do I have to use same maintenance part as Pipetman P ?
A. All models of Pipetman G , except P2 model , require specific new seals comptatible with our high quality lubricant. 2 different service kits are available to end-users .
Q. How often I need to verify my pipette and am I able to do it?

| Q. How to recognize real Pipetman G ?
A. A colored ring is tied to the screw indicates that the pipette is equipped with the new piston assembly.This ring is not removable unwillingly.
Q. Is the material of the Pipetman G is the same as Pipetman Classic?
A. All the raw materials of Pipetman G are the same of Pipetman Classic
Q. How can I prevent piston corrosion?
A. After contact with corrosive liquids, a piston should be cleaned with alcohol and a soft tissue. Take care to avoid shocks or scratches.
Q. My Pipett is not aspirating . What could be the problem?
A. Tip holder is scratched or damaged, use of non-Gilson tips , Use of non-gilson seals , Use of non-Gilson lubricant , Vapor pressure from organic solvents
Q. Why do I need a pipette holder?
A. To prevent corrosion, contamination or breakage. Always store your pipettes vertically to prevent liquids from running inside the shaft of the pipette. Do not leave your pipette lying on the workbench where it can come into contact with chemicals or fall off and break.
Q. My pipetting forces are important compare to an another pipette, what is the problem?
A. Improper reassembly of the lower part. My pipette piston need to be cleaned and greased
Q. What is RSI? A. RSI means Repetitive Strain Injuries, and relates to traumatic disorders when you perform repetitive tasks. Thanks to the redesigned piston assembly and the addition of high quality lubricant , the Pipetman G presents the smallest pipetting force on the market; and then the risk of RSI is significantly decreased.
Q. What is the warranty period for the Gilson’s product?
A. Gilson warrants these products against defects in material under normal use and service for a period of 12 months from the date of purchase.

Q. Which parts are containing in my pipetman G packaging?
A. The user’s guide, a safety bag and the Certificate of conformity (including core barre sticker)
Q. Is there a plastic ejector available on Pipetman G ?
A. Stainless steel or plastic ejectors are available. They both have the legendary PIPETMAN robustness and are equipped with a ejector clip for an easy and safe access to the serviceable parts.
Q. Is Pipetman G lighter than Pipetman P and Pipetman Neo?
A. The Pipetman G has the same weight of Pipetman Classic and Pipetman Neo.
